Fundkunst – Every day, personal objects lose their owners in the Swiss public transport. Laptops, mobile phones, suitcases, clothes—but also works of art—get lost. After the legal waiting period, these unclaimed items end up at the fundsachenverkauf.ch store in Zurich. Most of them eventually find a new owner. With art, however, things are more difficult. Art enthusiasts rarely make their way to fundsachenverkauf, which means that many of the artworks remain in the store’s basement.

Already in 2017 and 2019, some of the lost artworks were brought back into the spotlight for the first time in exhibitions. Now fundkunst.ch returns with a new selection of rediscovered, forgotten artworks waiting to be seen and appreciated anew. From June 8 to June 20, 2026, the works will be exhibited at the pop-up store of fundsachenverkauf.ch at Kapellplatz 5 in Lucerne—and can be purchased directly on site.
